We are pleased to share the next event in our Wa Concert Series — an afternoon dedicated to the richness and intimacy of chamber music. Our upcoming concert, titled “The Meaning of WA,” will take place on Sunday, November 30, 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Tenri Cultural Institute of New York.

We are especially thrilled to announce that Ms. Naoko Tanaka (Violin) will join us to perform Bartók’s Contrasts together with Charles Neidich and Mohamed Shams. Naoko Tanaka and Charles were among the founding members of the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra and have shared not only its musical ideals but also a profound artistic spirit and friendship for decades. Having her join our WA Concert Series is a joy beyond words — a return of musical hearts that have long inspired one another.

Along with our dear colleagues Carol Wincenc and Mohamed Shams, we will also perform Martinů’s Sonata for Flute and Piano, Thea Musgrave’s work for Clarinet and Piano, music by Florence Price, and more. This program invites us to look beyond the familiar notions of WA — beyond harmony and connection — toward something deeper and more timeless, something we can begin to understand only through the shared experience of music.

Although the notice is short, we would be truly happy if you could join us for this meaningful afternoon.

Let us explore together what WA may truly mean.
